Oakland Re-Create 2009 Art Contest and Exhibit

 

Re-Create Traveling Art Exhibit
City Hall Rotunda

Selected pieces from Oakland’s Annual Re-Create Art Contest and Exhibition are on display at City Hall on the Mezzanine of the Rotunda through January 30, 2010. Stop by to see the beautiful pieces that Oakland student artists have created from discarded materials in a hands-on application of the 4Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle and rot.

Several of the contest entries on display received awards for artistic merit at the Re-Create opening reception in November 2009.

Following the exhibit at City Hall, these and other artwork from the Re-Create Traveling Exhibit will be on display at the following Oakland Public Libraries:

¨ February 2-28 - Elmhurst Branch Library, 1427 88th Avenue

¨ February 2-28 - Lakeview Branch Library, 550 El Embarcadero

¨ February 2-28 - Oakland Main Library, Teen Zone, 125 14th Street

¨ March 2-31- Cesar E. Chavez Branch Library, 3301 E. 12th Street, Ste. 271

¨ March 2-31 - West Oakland Branch Library, 1801 Adeline Street
